Leo Espinoza returns to the Empire Strykers for 2027–28

After a season with the Baltimore Blast, veteran Chilean forward Leonardo “Leo” Espinoza, has signed with the Empire Strykers for the 2027-2028 Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) season. Leo sat down with the Strykers and answered a few questions about his return to the club.

Are you happy to be back?

I’m very happy. I’ve said many times that Empire feels like home. I’m grateful to the owners and coaching staff because, thanks to them, I’m back.

Do you know what your role will be?

Honestly, I don’t have that information yet. What I do know is that I’ll contribute everything I can to help the team.

Are you looking forward to playing for a player-coach?

I know Berto well. He’s an incredible player, and even before becoming a coach, you could see his coaching ability. I’m excited to play for someone so capable.

Is a championship within reach?

Of course. Anything is possible—we just have to believe and work extremely hard.

“I'm very excited to be returning to Empire. My experience here two years ago was very special because everyone at the club made me feel at home. That meant a lot. Of course, my main goal is to win. On a personal level, I want to do all I can to help the team be successful. I'm grateful for this opportunity and looking forward to being with my teammates again.”
