Strykers Re-Sign Alan Perez to Multi-Year Deal
Area native commits long-term ahead of sixth season with Empire
Ontario, Calif. — The Empire Strykers today announced they have signed defender-midfielder Alan Perez to a new contract that will keep the 27-year-old with the Southern California-based club through the 2028-29 Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) season, with an option for 2029-30. Retaining one of their longest-serving players marks a key move for the Strykers following back-to-back playoff appearances.
“It means a lot to represent this organization and this community,” said Perez. “Having spent my whole life in Greater LA, there’s a lot of pride that comes with playing in the Inland Empire. I’d like to thank Strykers ownership and our technical staff for their trust, and the fans for their passion and support. I’m excited about our direction and can’t wait to keep giving it my all on the field.”
Perez joined the Ontario Fury (today’s Empire Strykers) in 2021, following a successful collegiate career at Taft College and UC Riverside. After showing promise during his rookie MASL season in 2021–22, the Los Angeles native played a key role over the course of the following four campaigns, making at least 21 appearances in each. Most recently, he set a personal regular season record with 13 goals while also matching his personal best in points per game (1.0 in 21 games).
Perez produced a pair of the most memorable moments of 2025-26 in the form of two long-range buzzer beaters within a four-day span. The first of the thunderbolts struck at the end of the opening half of an emphatic home win over mighty Kansas City on January 25. The second found the net with time expiring in the first quarter of a February 1 away defeat to Baltimore. On each occasion, the ball crossed the goal line with exactly half a second left on the clock.
In 103 career appearances with Empire, including four in the playoffs, Perez has recorded a total of 35 goals, 29 assists and 41 blocked opposition shots.
Strykers Head Coach Robert Palmer expressed his excitement about a core member of his side committing for years to come.
“Alan has been a loyal and hugely important player for us, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to witness his growth,” said the Jamaican. “He brings consistency, professionalism and a winning mentality every single day while continuing to grow into a leadership role within our group. Having shared a locker room with Alan for nearly my entire time here, I’ve had a front-row seat to his development and everything he adds on and off the field. We’re thrilled to have him back and excited for what’s ahead.”
With the new MASL soccer campaign kicking off in late 2026, anyone looking to buy Empire Strykers single-game or season tickets should keep an eye out for the official schedule release in the fall. Empire Strykers fan gear is available year-round via the online team store.
The Strykers are the premier indoor soccer team in the Inland Empire and one of two top-tier pro indoor soccer teams in California. As a founding member of the MASL, the Empire organization prides itself on fielding one of the best small-sided teams in the world.
